Shalimar Waffa
-
Shalimar’s artistic journey is nothing short of inspiring. A self-taught artist with over 15 years of experience, she began her professional life as a Registered Nurse, serving on the ICU and Code Blue team at UNC Healthcare. She was on track to become a CRNA when life took an unexpected turn. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and three months pregnant after a long and difficult fertility journey, she made the courageous decision to step away from healthcare to protect her pregnancy. In doing so, she embraced her lifelong passion for art and launched her dream career by opening a gallery in downtown Cary, NC in late 2021. Since she’s committed to a full time professional art career, she’s produced and sold hundreds of pieces world wide.
